OptiCon Significantly Reduces Fiber Network Service
Costs -- as Stated on Ceocast.com
Tuesday December 13, 2005
Hathaway Corporation is pleased to announce that its wholly
owned subsidiary, OptiCon Systems, Inc., can significantly reduce
fiber network service costs as stated by John Marshall Batton,
CEO of Opticon, during his interview on www.Ceocast.com. "The
Basic Concept is 'One break, One Truck.' This is the philosophy
that fully encompasses the business model which can reduce Fiber
Network Repair Systems overhead by approximately 80%," stated
John Batton. Traditional fiber optic repairs can require eight
trucks to isolate a break and then repair it.
OptiCon's software, which was developed by Corning Cable Systems,
a division of Corning Inc., drastically reduces the costs associated
with repairs in terms of both cost and time. Corning spent millions
of dollars over seven years developing the Fiber Optic Management
System which is currently owned, marketed and sold by OptiCon Systems,
Inc. OptiCon serves over 70% of the global 500 companies such as
Adelphia, Charter, Comcast, Comcast/AT&T, Cox, Time Warner, and
Bright House.
Mr. Batton also summarized the structure of their two revenue models. "Sales
are being generated through two avenues, Regional Sales Consultants,
and a Direct sales force." He stated that, "With our Management's
proven track record of success and our position in the industry,
we have very high expectations for attracting customers both with
existing in-place fiber networks, along with new installs both here
in the US and abroad."
